Chilean Days!

September 18th is Chile's Independence Day so this last weekend there was some celebrating in Payson. For those of you who don't know I served my mission in Chile and so I am quite fond of the place and its traditions. Until a couple of weeks ago we had Sebastian living with us. I met him and his family while I was down there. He came here to study a little English before he goes on his mission. He brought Josie a little "cueca" dress. The cueca is there national dance. It is still quite big on her but of course she had to wear it to the festivities. She looked adorable. There she is with Sebastian in his traditional clothing as well. There was a little pony giving rides so Marcus helped Josie go on her first pony ride. She really liked it. We had lots of fun there and got to eat a lot of the traditonal food...empanadas, pastel de choclo, berlines, etc.

Josie's 1st Birthday!

I can't believe a whole year has passed since little Josie joined our family. It has been a wonderful year and we are so grateful that she is a part of our lives. She has brought so much love, joy, and laughter. I have spent this last week thinking back about her and how much she has changed. It has gone by way, way too fast. Our baby is becoming a little girl and it makes me sad. I just want to enjoy this time and hold on to each moment!! So to celebrate I wanted to keep it simple and just enjoy this day with her. The day started out by waking up daddy and opening a package sent from Beth and Travs and kids. Daddy had to go to work but I made Josie one of her favorite breakfasts... pancakes and like usual she made quite the mess!!! We cleaned her up, she took a nap, and then we met daddy at Bajios for lunch. We then went over to Macey's and picked out her cake and some balloons. Marcus had to go back to work so Josie went home and took her afternoon nap. When she woke up we went and picked daddy up from work and headed up to Bountiful where we met Grandma Reeder, Leah, Lauren, and Stephen at the park for a picnic. Grandma brought the picnic and it was great. Josie had so much fun being the center of attention and getting spoiled by her aunts and uncle. She also got some great gifts... Grandma and Grandpa Hadlock mailed her a little red wagon that she can push herself and Grandpa and Grandma Reeder gave her a little stuffed puppy with a leash that she pulls around... just to mention a few of the things. It was funny too when we sat her down by her presents she started handing them out to everyone and we thought she was sharing but if you weren't helping her open it then she came and took it back. Smart little girl!! We then did her cake. She didn't dive in as much as I thought she would but she still loved it and tried to share it with everyone. It turned out to be a wonderful day for all of us. We love you Josie so much and are so glad you are part of our family!!! Happy Birthday Josie!!

Doctor Visits!

Josie comes with me to all of my doctor appointments. The clinic is only about three blocks away so we walked this last time. She is amazingly good during them which I am so thankful for cause I don't know what I would do if not especially since we are now seeing the doctor every two weeks! Yeah!! Everything looks really good with our little boy and we are looking forward to meeting him sometime the end of October... his due date is October 28th.

And here is Josie at her One year check up. She loved going to the doctor and was so curious about everything. She kept smiling at Dr. Bailey and touching his arm. She wanted to stay on the paper the whole time... I guess she liked the noise. She weighs 18 lbs and 3 0z and is 28 inches... she is a little on the small side but healthy as can be.

Josie brought Marcus a Parenting magazine and wanted him to look at with her. I thought it was pretty funny so here they are looking at it together.

Some Random Pictures of Josie

A fun picture... We let the Simpsons babysit Josie for a day but then she came home saying, "Eat my shorts!" so we aren't going to do that again!

Josie climbed in Bug's pen.

My big helper...
She loves to help me unload the dishwasher and she even can get the ones on the top shelf!

Pirate House

On Monday July 14th, we headed to Boulder, NV to the Pirate House for the week. Josie and I went with Annie, Gracie, and Martha. Marcus couldn't get work off so we sadly left him behind. We sure missed him!! The Pirate House belongs to a friend off my dads and it is an absolutely amazing place. Pictures don't quite do it justice either. It is like a big resort with swimming pools and slides and it is all Pirate themed. And the best part of all is that it is private. Most of my family was able to make it down there at least for part of the week. One of my good friends , Brooke, who lives in Las Vegas was able to come for a couple of days too. Brooke came with her husband Jesse and their two boys, and her mom, and sister Natalie. We had lots of fun with them. Josie loved it all!! I actually think her favorite though might have been the all you can eat ice cream cones. She loved the water though and being with all the kids. We went home to Marcus at the end of the week and he had missed us so much that he bought us flowers, treats, and a few other gifts. He is so sweet and we were so happy to see him. Josie wouldn't let him out of her sight at first... she sure missed him!
