The thursday before Christmas

It is the Thursday before Christmas- just one more day of work till the weekend. We wanted to take some christmas pictures of Josie for Christmas cards.... but we put it off too long- maybe we will send out happy-new years cards with pictures of Josie instead. Josie is so fun now- she will try and talk, and make all sorts of funny noises. And every-once-in-a-while if your lucky you can catch a little bit of a giggle. She loves to suck on her shirts and she tries to get anybody and everybody's hand in her little mouth. If you are holding her she tries to slowly slide your hands up and up and then she will throw her head down with her tongue hanging out ready to slobber all over your fingers. She is funny. Personally I hate it when peoples hands are anywhere near her mouth- but she finds a way.... she is a funny little girl. She will also roll over now, from her back to her belly. When she gets there she does not know what to do - so she just lays her head down or cries. Its fun to watch. She has little ways to move around a little bit too. Ill put her down in one spot- and she will wiggle her way around and be a foot or two away from where I sat her down. But anyways- back to taking pictures for Christmas cards! haha i got distracted. We set up a little spot to take pictures and put this goofy baby Christmas hat on her head- she hated it. I started taking pictures- but she seamed to hate that too- so I got more candid pictures than happy Christmas baby pictures. Ill post a couple of my favorites-

Thanksgiving

For thanksgiving me Jac and Josie flew up to Washington state to be with the family. We had thanksgiving dinner at my uncles restaurant on woodby Island. We had a lot of fun- and went around Seattle. Josie was so cute with her relatives that she had never seen before (And I haven't seen in years!) It was a fun trip- The plane ride to and from was a breeze with Josie, she went right to sleep and slept the whole trip.

(Pictures finally added 3/23/08- but i took them with my fish-eye. The fountain in Seattle -2 of the nieces Anakah and Hannah, and one with everybody crammed into the elevator-)

Halloween

We found a cute little chili pepper costume at Target for Josie. We decided on it from the rest cause it was the one that fit the best... the others were kind of big. I took Josie over to Marcus's work in it so everyone could see her there. She didn't like it at first but then fell asleep. Marcus decided to be a caveman from the Geico commercial. He went to a make up artist at 6:30 in the morning before work. When he came home he called to me and when I saw him it really scared

me. He didn't look like my Marcus. He then went to work and later on we met up with him. I have to admit that I was glad when he finally took off his costume and cleaned up.

Our One Year Anniversary

It is crazy to think that a year has gone by since Marcus and I got married. So much has happened and changed. We are so happy though. We weren't sure what to do for our anniversary since we have little Josie and she is still so small. Our anniversary was on a Saturday. Friday night I went with Marcus up to Salt Lake to go to an art gallery. We met some of Marcus's friends from work. We didn't stay long cause it was the first time we had really left Josie with someone other than ourselves. Martha stayed and watched her. It was fun to get away for a few hours. The next day we went up to Salt Lake again but this time with Josie too. We stayed at the Plaza Hotel right by Temple Square. Our room had a huge jetted tub right in the front room of our suite. It was so much fun. Josie loved it. It was her first experience "swimming". We turned the jets on for her and she would cry when we turned them off...that is how much she loved them. We walked down to Olive Garden for dinner. It was raining outside and very cold or we would have walked around some more. We went back to our suite and enjoyed the tub and watched TV. The next morning we had an all you can eat buffet breakfast. We then went back and got ready to leave. The weather turned out to be nice on Sunday so we headed over to Temple Square to walk around. It was fun and brought back a lot of memories of the year before and getting married there. Hmmm... I wonder what next year will bring?!

Josie Update

Lately Josie has been smiling at people. Most of the time she is a content little girl. She loves sticking out her tongue- its pretty cute. We love her more and more every day! She has big- bright eyes and looks at everything. She loves to be moving, hates sitting still. She requires a lot of attention and hates her crib! Most of the times she sleeps in her car seat. She is a goofy little girl-

10/09/07

Tonight Jacque had some friends over and we hung out at the house- watched a little Grey's Anatomy and drank sparkling cider. It was fun. Lori, Jacques good friend since high school was here, and her buddy from Chile- Kylie. Josie went with Jacque to her Infant massage class and loved it. she was a very good baby today. She fell asleep on my chest again! I loved it.

Josie, one Month old...

So yesterday Josie finished her first month with us. She has been so much fun. I actually started this blog yesterday and have been trying to update as much as I could- with the pictures that we had. It is crazy that a month has gone by already. When Josie was born she only fit into pre-mie clothing... (clothing for pre-mature babies) and now after this first month those clothes are impossible to get on her. Her 0-3 month clothes at first looked like a little boy wearing his daddies clothing.... and now she fits in it very well. Its pretty crazy how she has grown so much already. It is scary ;) I kinda of want her to stay this small forever. My favorite thing to do with her is cuddle her- I love it when she falls asleep and lays on my chest while i am laying down... I just pat her little back. Sometimes I fall asleep too- and Jacque keeps an eye on us. One night, in the middle of the night Jacque looked over at me sleeping, and my hand was up patting the air... as if I was patting Josie while she was laying on my chest. I didnt remember it- but I thought it was funny when she told me the next day. Another funny thing about Josie is how peculiar she is.... When she is in the car- when I drive slow or come to stops- she starts to whimper and whine but somehow she can since when I get up to around 35-40 and she calms down. Sometimes she will start to fuss on the highway, and I get into the slow lane and drive over those bump strips on the side and she calms right down. She loves it! It actually puts her to sleep. The other day she was really tired and crying, and we came to a red light.... So I would let go of the break and push it down again and rock the car- and she calmed down (although I be the people around me thought I was nuts!) I am so glad we had little Josie- It is a lot of work and a lot of responsibility, but she feels like she belongs and that things would not and could not be the same without her. She lights up our home with smiles. I love to come home from work and hear about the funny things she has done during the day. Ever since she was born she has been very alert... and looks around all of the time with her eyes wide open. Its very cute- Now she is starting to focus on faces and lights and things. It is pretty neat to stare into her eyes while she stares right back into yours. This first month has been fun. I love being Josies Dad.
